Weekend Matinee: Things To Come

Probably one of the great science fiction films of The Golden Age is William Cameron Menzies' "Things To Come," written by H.G. Wells.

Made in 1936, "Things To Come" tells a 100-year story about a great world war that leaves the planet in ruins and how a group of scientists calling themselves Wings Over The World leads Earth into a new age.

For its time, the special effects are quite good and the acting is pure 1930s cheese. But what I love best about this movie can be summed up in two words: Big Fuck-Off Helmets. Enjoy. -- FuzzyDave
